Key Stage 5

Key Stage 5

Key Stage 5

Years 12 and 13

In today's rapidly changing world, creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and resilience are essential characteristics of successful individuals. Post 16 provision at Grammar School fosters and values these qualities. Key Stage 5 enables students to develop the necessary skills to transition from school to either higher education or the world of work.  This transition is supported by our wide enrichment programme.

Our aim is that those who leave our Post 16 should be self-confident young men and women who will find fulfillment and happiness in their future lives. It is something that we are passionate about.

In Years 12 and 13, our students prepare for their Pearson Edexcel examinations, International Advanced Subsidiary (IAS), and International Advanced Level (IAL), which are required for university entry. AS-Level courses take one year and A-Levels two years. These qualifications are renowned and accepted worldwide.

Our students are given the option to choose a minimum of three to a maximum of four subjects to study in Year 12; they can either study their chosen subject for one year leading to an AS-Level (half an A-Level) or for two years, leading to a full A-Level.
