Vice Principal’s message

Dear Parents and Students

As the Vice Principal, with great pleasure I extend a warm welcome to all our students and parents to the Grammar family. ‘Learning Today-Leading Tomorrow’ is our mantra and we passionately believe in it. Being an inclusive school we strive to cater to the needs of all children and in our endeavour to do so we have created and designed our program of study and activities so that all children learn and participate and lead each other together.

At Grammar, we believe that each child has immense potential and unique blend of capabilities and skills. Keeping this in mind this academic year we will be focusing on STEAM projects which is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths thus personalising learning to tap into each child’s areas of strength to help and guide them to reach their potential. We also are aware that we are preparing children for the future which is unknown to us today due to the advancement of technology. Therefore, we need to develop in our children skills which will help them not only to survive but also prosper. To enable us to achieve this goal this academic year we will be initiating ‘Project and Theme Based Learning’. These projects will be collaboratively planned and executed by children thus helping them to develop the 21st century skills which include:

Learning and innovation skills:

  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Critical thinking and Problem solving
  • Communication
  • Collaboration
  • Use of technology
  • Digital Citizenship

Life and Career Skills:

  • Flexibility and Adaptability
  • Initiative and Self-Direction
  • Social and Cross-Cultural Skills
  • Leadership and Responsibility

My key focus this year to support and promote the National Agenda will be

  • To develop the love for reading in young learners.
  • To use technology as a tool to make learning journey exciting for the Grammar Community (Children, Teachers & Parents)

I strongly believe that the state of mind is the key to learning and growing, where in not only the school but the home has an equally big role. At Grammar we provide a very happy, inclusive and caring environment where children can grow and progress into well-rounded, confident, nurturing and responsible adults. The culture and environment across the school encourages each child to learn successfully and reach their potential in every area. The whole school community works together in partnership to achieve the vision and mission. I am proud to be part of such a vibrant, ambitious and inclusive school community.

Looking forward to an exciting new chapter and journey wherein we all – Parents, students and Teachers work collaboratively to nurture and give the best possible opportunities to our children.

Enjoy the new school year and all the STEAMING excitement and INNOVATION it will bring!
